Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of TEAM AIG's personalised 1-to-1 online tutoring services.

By requesting, booking or participating in tutoring services, the client agrees to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Our Tutoring Services

TEAM AIG provides personalised 1-to-1 online tutoring in subjects including English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.

Tutoring may be provided to students following different national and international curricula, depending on the student's requirements and the tutor's availability.

2. Online Lessons

Lessons are delivered online using an agreed online communication platform or learning technology.

Clients are responsible for ensuring that the student has suitable access to a device, internet connection, audio, camera where required and a reasonably suitable learning environment.

3. Lesson Booking and Scheduling

Tutoring lessons are arranged according to the student's learning needs, the client's preferences and tutor availability.

Clients may request individual lessons or a regular tutoring schedule. The number of lessons may be arranged according to the client's preference and the student's needs, including four lessons per month, eight lessons per month, twelve lessons per month, or another mutually agreed arrangement.

TEAM AIG tutoring fees are calculated on an hourly basis using the agreed hourly tutoring rate. The total amount payable therefore depends on the agreed hourly rate and the tutoring time provided.

The agreed lesson schedule, tutoring rate and payment arrangement will be communicated to the client before or at the beginning of the tutoring arrangement.

Lesson times are subject to tutor availability and may be changed by mutual agreement between TEAM AIG and the client.

4. Fees and Payment

TEAM AIG tutoring services are charged on an hourly basis at the agreed tutoring rate. The total amount payable will depend on the agreed hourly rate, lesson duration and number of tutoring sessions.

Clients may choose an appropriate payment arrangement in discussion with TEAM AIG. Depending on the circumstances, payment may be made fully before tutoring begins, partly before tutoring begins with the remaining balance paid according to an agreed schedule, biweekly after services have been provided, or monthly after services have been provided.

Where monthly payment is agreed, payment will normally be due on the last day of the relevant month unless another payment date has been agreed with the client.

Tutoring may be arranged as individual lessons or as a regular monthly schedule. For example, a client may request eight lessons per month, twelve lessons per month, or another number of lessons according to the student's needs and the client's preferences.

The number of lessons may be agreed according to the client's preference and the student's learning needs. This may include four lessons per month, eight lessons per month, twelve lessons per month, or another arrangement agreed between the client and TEAM AIG. In all cases, tutoring fees are calculated on an hourly basis using the agreed hourly tutoring rate.

Any payment schedule, lesson frequency or payment arrangement will be agreed with the client before the relevant tutoring service is provided.

If an agreed payment becomes overdue, TEAM AIG may temporarily pause further tutoring services until the outstanding amount has been resolved.

5. Cancellations and Rescheduling

We understand that students and families may occasionally need to change their schedules. Clients should provide reasonable notice whenever a lesson needs to be cancelled or rescheduled.

Where reasonable notice is provided, TEAM AIG will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the lesson at a mutually convenient time, subject to tutor availability.

Rescheduled lessons are not guaranteed to take place at the same date or time as the original booking.

Repeated cancellations or frequent changes to scheduled lessons may affect the availability of preferred lesson times and may require a revised tutoring schedule to be agreed.

Where a client cancels a lesson at short notice or fails to provide reasonable notice, the lesson may be treated as a scheduled service and may remain chargeable, depending on the circumstances and the payment arrangement agreed with TEAM AIG.

If TEAM AIG or the assigned tutor needs to cancel or reschedule a lesson, reasonable efforts will be made to provide an alternative lesson time or another appropriate arrangement.

6. Missed Lessons

A missed lesson is a lesson that has been scheduled but cannot take place because the student does not attend or is unavailable at the agreed time.

If a student misses a scheduled lesson without reasonable prior notice, TEAM AIG may treat the lesson as a scheduled service and the lesson may remain chargeable according to the agreed payment arrangement.

Where the student is unable to attend because of an unexpected circumstance, clients are encouraged to contact TEAM AIG as soon as reasonably possible. TEAM AIG will consider the circumstances and, where practical, may offer an alternative arrangement.

Where a lesson cannot take place because of a problem caused by TEAM AIG or the assigned tutor, reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule the lesson or provide another appropriate arrangement.

Regular attendance and timely communication help students make consistent progress and help tutors maintain an effective lesson schedule.

7. Parent or Guardian Responsibilities

For students who are children or young people, the parent or guardian remains responsible for providing appropriate supervision and support outside the tutoring session.

Parents or guardians should provide accurate information about the student's age, level, learning needs and any relevant circumstances that may affect the tutoring experience.

8. Student Conduct

Students are expected to behave respectfully towards tutors and other participants.

Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, disruptive or inappropriate behaviour will not be accepted.

TEAM AIG reserves the right to end a lesson or suspend tutoring services where serious or repeated inappropriate behaviour occurs.

9. Safeguarding

TEAM AIG takes the safety and wellbeing of students seriously. Concerns relating to a student's safety or wellbeing may be addressed appropriately and, where necessary, escalated to a parent, guardian or relevant authority.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to remain aware of the online learning arrangements used by their children.

10. Tutor-Student Communication

Communication relating to lessons should normally take place through the agreed TEAM AIG communication channels or through the parent or guardian where appropriate.

Parents or guardians should be informed of arrangements concerning younger students and should provide appropriate oversight of online communication.

11. Academic Support and Student Outcomes

TEAM AIG provides tutoring, explanation, guidance, practice and educational support. We do not guarantee a particular examination grade, academic result, admission decision or other educational outcome.

Student progress depends on several factors, including attendance, effort, independent study, prior knowledge, engagement and the requirements of the relevant curriculum or examination.

12. Learning Materials

Tutors may provide or recommend learning materials, exercises, explanations, examples and other educational resources.

Materials supplied by TEAM AIG are intended for the student's educational use and should not be reproduced or commercially distributed without appropriate permission.

13. Privacy and Confidentiality

TEAM AIG will handle personal information responsibly and use information provided by clients for appropriate purposes connected with the tutoring service.

Clients should avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive personal information when requesting tutoring services.

14. Technical Problems

Online lessons may occasionally be affected by internet problems, device problems, software failures, power outages or other technical circumstances outside TEAM AIG's reasonable control.

Where a technical problem significantly prevents a lesson from taking place, TEAM AIG will make reasonable efforts to communicate with the client and agree on an appropriate solution.

15. Changes to Tutoring Arrangements

TEAM AIG may make reasonable changes to tutors, lesson arrangements, platforms or service procedures when necessary. Where a significant change affects a booked service, the client will be informed where reasonably possible.

16. Ending the Tutoring Relationship

Either the client or TEAM AIG may decide to end tutoring arrangements, subject to any outstanding agreed payment, cancellation or booking obligations.

TEAM AIG may suspend or end services where there is serious misconduct, non-payment, repeated disruption or another significant breach of these Terms & Conditions.

17. Refunds

Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis and will depend on the circumstances of the booking, the services already provided, any outstanding balance and the payment arrangement agreed with the client.

Payment for tutoring services that have already been provided is generally not refundable.

Where a client has made an advance payment for tutoring that has not yet been provided, the client may contact TEAM AIG to discuss whether a refund or alternative arrangement is appropriate.

Where a lesson is cancelled or missed, any refund or rescheduling arrangement will be considered in accordance with the agreed cancellation and payment arrangements.

If TEAM AIG is unable to provide a prepaid tutoring service and cannot reasonably reschedule the service, an appropriate alternative arrangement or refund may be considered.

Any applicable refund will normally be made using a reasonable payment method agreed with the client.

18. No Guarantee of Results

Although TEAM AIG aims to provide high-quality educational support, we cannot guarantee specific examination results, grades, academic progression or other outcomes.

19. Changes to These Terms

TEAM AIG may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our services or operating procedures.

The latest version will be made available on this website.
